Workforce Data

The Governor’s Workforce Cabinet (GWC) was formed in 2018 with the mission of addressing current and future education and employment needs for individuals and employers, strengthening Indiana’s economy by integrating and aligning state and federal resources, and ensuring a talent-driven education and workforce system.

The membership of the GWC includes the business community, K-12 representatives, postsecondary institutions, Indiana lawmakers, leaders from Indiana state agencies, and an Aim representative. In 2020, the GWC led the development of Indiana’s Strategic Workforce Plan, including the full plan, executive summary, and overview.

Workforce Regions

In 2022, GWC embarked on a new mission to visit every workforce region. A data profile for each workforce region will be created with data you can use as a resource.

Region 6 Workforce Data Profile (Richmond on December 15, 2022)

Region 11 Workforce Data Profile (Jasper on October 25, 2022)

Cabinet Recommendations

In advance of the 2023 legislative session, the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet offers Recommendations to Tackle Employer Talent Challenges and Accelerate the State’s Economy. These recommendations address critical needs in Indiana’s economy, including helping employers find workers and develop a skilled talent pipeline, removing barriers that are keeping people out of the labor force and priorities for preparing Indiana’s future workforce.

This collection is the work of statewide Cabinet members and is based on many hours of collaboration, interviews with subject matter experts and review of programs, outcomes and best practices both locally and nationally.
