Hello Aim members!
We opened the Aim Ideas Summit in French Lick with a new video called The Ordinary and the Extraordinary. It covers what municipal government does on a normal day: keeping water clean, streets safe, roads plowed, parks open, and supporting police, fire, and first responders. It also shares what that work looks like when the worst happens, including the natural disasters that hit communities across Indiana in this summer. We created this to highlight our members, and we encourage you to share it with your residents.
You can also find the video on Facebook, LinkedIn and X.
We are thrilled to put a spotlight on the work of municipalities, but we hope you’ll take it to the next level! Consider the following steps:
- Click on one of the links above to watch it.
- Post it on your own social page and/or your city or town’s social page(s). Offer your followers some thoughts about the video and why it matters.
- Make it local, too. Add a line about your own crew and a storm or major event they worked through, the project that saved the town money, or the calls they take at 2 a.m. It’s powerful when your residents recognize the people you’re describing.
Residents rarely see the work you and your teams do, which means they rarely get the chance to value it. A minute of their attention is worth more than it sounds — and there’s no one better to spend it on than the people they already know.
