EVANSVILLE – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities announced the towns of Avon and Brownsburg are winners of the Aim Local Government Collaboration Award.  The towns received their award during the Aim Annual Awards Luncheon presented by Umbaugh, Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Aim Ideas Summit in Evansville.

Avon and Brownsburg received this honor for their collaboration and construction of the Bicentennial Trail.  The trail connects the trail systems of both towns and was designated in 2016 as a Bicentennial Legacy Project by the State of Indiana.

“In order to grow and enhance our state’s quality of place, working together is a must.  I am thrilled to see Avon and Brownsburg honored for their collaboration,” said Aim CEO Matt Greller.

In its 41st year, the Aim Annual Awards program, presented by Umbaugh, recognizes communities and individuals in municipal government for excellence and outstanding achievement.  A nine-member panel of qualified judges selected this year’s winners from a competitive field of nominees from around the state.
