FRENCH LICK – Plainfield engineer Tim Belcher was named 2018 Ivan H. Brinegar Municipal Management Award from Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim). Belcher received the award on Wednesday, Oct. 3, during the Presidents’ Reception at the 2018 Aim Ideas Summit in French Lick.

The Ivan H. Brinegar Municipal Management Award is presented to an appointed municipal official with a minimum of 10 years of city or town service who displays strong leadership, contributions to the community, and serves as a role model to citizens and other municipal officials.

Belcher has served as Plainfield town engineer, the town’s first, for 28 years.  He has been involved in every key infrastructure project in the town’s recent history.  Known as a collaborator and innovator, Tim has been instrumental in keeping infrastructure ahead of development, and addressing fast-growing Plainfield’s industrial, commercial, and residential engineering needs.

“The Brinegar award is one of my favorite honors.  Giving hard-working public servants like Tim a chance to be thanked is what this award is all about,” Aim CEO Matt Greller said. “For the past 28 years, Tim has been at the crux of Plainfield’s many infrastructure, water, and wastewater expansions.  He’s a true asset to the community.”
