Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel and North Manchester Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford Elected to Officer Positions
FORT WAYNE – Aim (Accelerate Indiana Municipalities) announced today that Mishawaka Mayor David Wood was elected to succeed Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers as the organization’s president on October 10th during the 2024 Aim Ideas Summit held in Fort Wayne.
After twelve years on the council, in 2010 Wood became Mishawaka’s 21st mayor. Since that time, he has focused on community development and quality of place projects that attract talent, visitors, and additional private sector investment.
“Mayor Wood is such a creative, citizen and service focused mayor. His engagement of Mishawaka residents of all ages, large and small employers, municipal employees, his colleagues in government, and state lawmakers, has been a critical component of Mishawaka’s resurgence. I am excited to see him bring this engaging leadership style to Aim,” said Aim CEO Matt Greller.
In his recent remarks before the Aim membership, Mayor Wood said in his new role he will remain committed to ensuring cities and towns have the resources, tools, and support they need to be successful. “We must be adaptable, ready to innovate, and most importantly, committed to serving the people who call our cities and towns home, said Wood.”
Also elected were Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel, who will serve as 1st Vice President, and North Manchester Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford, who will serve as 2nd Vice President. All three officials take office on January 1, 2025.
“Any leadership transition is difficult, especially following the stewardship of Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers, who assumed the Aim presidency in 2023. However, we’ll have a great trio at the helm in January. Mayor Daniel and Clerk-Treasurer Mugford represent their communities with integrity and have been committed to Aim for years. With so much at stake for municipal government, I could not be more confident in the leadership we have heading into such an important legislative session,” said Greller.
