When Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness first learned of the mental health crisis in his city in 2014, the city embarked on a journey to understand how a community can use collaboration to combat the root cause of many health challenges in our cities and towns. Public safety in Fishers changed the way they conduct training, respond to behavioral health runs, and collect data. The school district overhauled their counseling program to provide better support, and the city began to lead on public policy and outreach to change the stigma around mental illness.
