We host workshops throughout the year as part of our mission to educate and inform our members.  Aim workshops are designed to give you insights into the selected topic and provide you the opportunity to have discussions with your municipal peers.

Aim Annual Budget Workshop

This is a must attend event for anyone involved with the budgeting process – mayors, council members, fiscal officers, deputies, and more. This workshop will advise municipal officials of recent legislative action that affects budgeting, and will also cover how to budget for 2019. A called meeting of the State Board of Accounts, the morning will cover a variety of topics, including MVH/LRS reporting and statutory requirements, Gateway reporting, ordinances and resolutions, and 1031 resolution of findings. The afternoon will teach the budgeting process from start to finish and the role played by each municipal member.

SBOA Called Meeting
The Aim Annual Budget Workshop is a called meeting of the State Board of Accounts.  Indiana law (IC 5-11-14-1) allows for city and town officials who attend called meetings to pay for registration or be reimbursed for travel expenses from the General Fund from any money not otherwise appropriated.  Further, the law specifies that a claim for registration and travel expenses incurred while attending a called meeting may not be denied by the body responsible for the approval of the claim if the claim complies with IC 5-11-10-1.6 and IC 5-11-14-1.

Pre-Registration Deadline
The deadline for pre-registration is (4) business days prior to each event.  Pre-registration is strongly recommended.

Cancellation Policy
Only written cancellations will be accepted.  Please mail your written cancellation to 125 W Market Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN  46204, fax to (317) 237-6206 or email to [email protected].  Written cancellations received five business days prior to the event will be refunded, minus a $40 cancellation fee.
