Are you struggling with understanding the interview process? In this session you will learn: how to screen employment applications and resumes; how to open an interview; what is lawful and unlawful to ask during an interview; how to develop behavioral-based interview questions; how to sell a job, close the interview and evaluate candidates; how to extend the offer and write the offer letter; and the legal guidelines around checking references, conducting background checks, requiring a drug screen and medical exam. We will also discuss common mistakes made during the interview process. In addition, we will provide an overview of the job description process, why they are important to have, and what should be included in all job descriptions. Finally, we will educate all participants on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) as it relates to government entities and define how to determine if a job and employee are exempt or nonexempt in accordance with the FLSA.
